“I remembered that the real world was wide, and that a varied field of hopes and fears, of sensations and excitements, awaited those who had courage to go forth into its expanse, to seek real knowledge of life amidst its perils.” ~ Jane Eyre

My name is Jill or Jillian. But usually Jill.

I’m a reader, a librarian, and a writer who believes in the power of words and information to change the world.

I love Jesus and His message. I love Him for everything He was and is: Savior. Lord. Radical. Outcast. Feminist. Friend.

But I don’t think loving Jesus means having all the answers.

My sister and I are freakishly connected but she is my best friend so it’s ok.

I try not to throw stones, but it’s hard.

Ireland is my Happy Place.

History is my thing.

Cooking is cathartic for me.

I believe following your passions is an act of holiness.

Favorite smells: Autumn leaves, balsam candles, and summer.

Insecurity is my demon. Vulnerability is hard too.

My husband makes me laugh every day. Even when his jokes are bad.

I think information is our most effective tool and our most powerful weapon.

“I write well in a forest of trees.”
